Insight
Create a brand that would add value to the existing picture house site. Space to act as a café bar concept for cinema customers.

Thinking
Due to thin and narrow nature, work on the horizontal.

Outcome
Previously a Mexican restaurant the space required a much needed make over concentrating around the central bar and servery area. New back of house kitchen was also installed to cater for the change in usage to A3. Due to the narrow curved nature of the architecture, the space was clad in a corrugated metal sheeting to give the illusion of more height, allowing us to drop architectural light fittings from a central raft. The servery was finished with reclaimed scaffold boards and terracotta tiles discovered in the local scrap yard. The rear wall display is designed to hang from a wire mesh giving the café full flexibility when transcending between day and night.
